I am waiting for a new fitbit zip ( I dont like wristband trackers) as my old one is not working.Will I lose all my past tracking information

No. All your tracking data is held on the fitbit servers (apart from any unsynced data) rather than on the fitbit itself.
When you get your replacement, go into the account section of the app and select "set up a device". Choose Zip and it will ask if you want to replace your existing Zip. Just say yes and follow the prompts. All your data, settings, badges etc will be retained.
