FitBit Zip will not sync

My FitBit Zip synced yesterday without any problem.  I changed nothing.

Today it will not sync.

I use Bluetooth to sync via an app on my laptop.  The device is paired in Bluetooth.

I have tried:

unpair device - remove battery - wait - reinsert battery - pair device in bluetooth - did not fix the problem

log out of the app that is installed on my laptop and then log back into the app -- did not fix the probelm

What can I do to resolve this?

Thanks!

Thank you.

I added it as a new device and that seemed to work.  It was able to sync.

Lose the data?  So I definitely need to get a screen shot for the Wellness program before trying much else???

It has occurred to me that the sync problem may be network overload and not our devices. Maybe Fitbit's network isn't big enough to handle all the devices sync'ing and we only sync when we happen to catch a slower time

The accepted solution isn't working. My FitBit was last able to sync last Saturday at 8:36pm. I have tried everything suggested (Bluetooth, remove device, add device, tried multiple times on multiple days), and even taking the battery out of my FitBit and putting it back in. Nothing has helped.

Any other suggestions?

If you contact them its easily sorted. I followed their advice: Unpaired my zip, set up my zip as a,new device, bingo!!

This worked... the key is to set it up as a new device... Thanks Kazimac

Well .... it worked once. The only way I can get mine to sync is to set it up as a new fit-bit.

After all this, I was still only able to sync by creating a "new" device every time I wanted to update my information. I ended up calling tech support and they had me doing everything we have covered here with the same results. The bottom line is that I need a new fit-bit and I am out of warranty. They did offer me 25% discount if I purchased from them. This device lasted 17 months.

I have tried everything mentioned in these posts and nothing works. I see so many complaints. Isn't it time Fitbit improved its products. I am exploring what's out there that is more reliable. It is difficult to put in the effort and unable to record it.

I had put my fitbit on table being that It would not sync this morning 6/5/ 2017. I just picked it up and tried to sync it worked just perfect tried it three more times perfect GO FIGURE

Thanks for your reply. I tried all the things others mentioned but it stii]ll not not sync. I took it out to Best Buy and they couln't sync it either. They think the problem is with the Fitbit. I bought a Garmin. Justhad it with that product.

Thanks for your ideas. I tried all the suggestions I saw. Wished they had worked for me.

Okay, I'm done. I tried to find an email to send these comments to Fitbit  but Fitbit evidently doesn't have one. After 3 devices all of which had this sync problem, I will no longer be trying to sync or buying another device. Fitbit's answer has been "we'll replace it" but they have made no effort to fix the problem. The sad thing is that Fitbit devices seem to be the best of what is out there. but they aren't worth the  hassle. I'll use the Zip as an expensive pedometer until it quits working but no more.

Hi everyone,

I'm sorry to hear of all of your syncing issues, glad to hear some of you are syncing again. I'm hoping I may be able to help.

First, I suggest you make sure you are on the latest version of the app. In particular, we had a recent update to the Android app and two recent updates on the Windows 10 app.

Second, if you haven't already please review the following help page, Why won't my tracker sync?

Hoping you all get back on track soon.

I downloaded the app a couple of days after the latest update so I have the latest version but it updates when it feels like  it  or says it's paired to another device and can't download. there is not other device

Guess what, my fitbit sync last night just like it should, all by itself. They must have had a problem with the app. Too bad they didn't tell us that in the first place. Let's keep our fingers crossed, that they keep syncing from here forward.
