FitBit Zip will not sync

My FitBit Zip synced yesterday without any problem.  I changed nothing.

Today it will not sync.

I use Bluetooth to sync via an app on my laptop.  The device is paired in Bluetooth.

I have tried:

unpair device - remove battery - wait - reinsert battery - pair device in bluetooth - did not fix the problem

log out of the app that is installed on my laptop and then log back into the app -- did not fix the probelm

What can I do to resolve this?

Thanks!

I so totally agree.  Went through my 2nd or 3rd Surge, fitbit will not replace, it is just over a year old. I have a Zip but it won't sync. REI said they won't replace my surge because it is over (barely) a year old, and they do not recommend fitbit. fit bit won't replace because it is over a year old.  I do have a new Zip, but won't sync. This is a terrible product, will not replace.

HI FBUser099

Thanks for your response.

My email was just like yours - tried all that you did.

Had problems getting to speak with anyone that day and by then I was too frustrated to wait any longer.

After 3 days of not being able to sync on demand it suddenly started syncing on its own.

What suggestions did you get from them? Maybe it will be helpful next time.

I don't think "Lester" read my email, because he suggested everything on
my typed list of things I'd tried, we've all tried, likely cut&pasted from
the website.

Perhaps enough of us complained to have someone actually look into the
problem? Synced just fine this morning. I need the Wellness Points!

Thanks for commenting on my post.

I think we have all tried the things on the list often without success.

As to enough people complaining - scores do but the product hasn't improved.

Just an update. My zip has sync'd for several days now after I changed the one month old battery. Today when it sync'd, the app said the battery was dead. The device was fine and the next time it sync'd the battery icon was green. Completely random sync'ing.

On 6/3/17 I received a update, day  it updated the fitbit app after that it would not sync tried all things suggested it would update one time when I reloaded fitbit then nothing, lost all data for 6/4/17. On 6/5/17 I had some errands to do, I left the fitbit on my dresser thought it was junk. I picked it up later in the day thought I would see if will sync MAGIC worked just fine and been just fine ever since. So I went to the store and looked at fitbit app said it was modified on 6/5/17 . And that was my friends was our problem the whole time. And the battery deal , mine has did that since it was new

Whatever it is;  if the device is not reliable,  it is not worth having.  I want an old PEDOMETER!!!!

I guess we all need to ditch the fitbit & go to Garmin because TWO YEARS LATER, this problem has began reoccurring. They answer us like we're ignorant. I'm going to Garmin.
