I did two rounds of walking last night... Around 630pm then 10pm to get in steps for stepbet challenge. Hit 11,000. Around midnight noticed display went blank. Changed battery this am. Fitbit step went backwards to 5pm last night - losing all steps past that time (~8000). Within 15 minutes it "caught up" to real time and is correctly recording today's steps but yesterday's are lost. This will cost me my $40 entry fee. Is there a solution - stepbet does not take "manual loads".

Nice to see you here @margaretrer and @JONELLIE! Data could be lost if your tracker is not synced before replacing the battery. This may be the reason your steps didn't sync.
I hope this helps! 😉

So when my phone says my tracker's battery is low and can't sync, there's nothing I can do, I'm just going to lose the steps?

Thanks for stopping by @SunsetRunner! You can try to fix your connectivity so you don't loose all your steps. You can follow this post on How to Fix Syncing Issues. Also, you may try to set up your tracker as a new device to restore the connectivity.
If this doesn't work or if you have already replaced your battery, you can manually log the steps you took on your previous days.
I hope this helps, keep me posted! 😉
