Hello. I am new to this having received fitbit zip for Xmas.

I didn't get started till Saturday and synced successfully however my zip did not sync on Sunday but it has already updated the data on the app for Monday. Will the Sunday data have been lost? If not how do I log it?

Also I cannot work out how to log the type of exercise I have done.

Welcome to fitbit!

Your data is safe. It can hold up to 7 days data between sync. Your data for Sunday will be there on your dashboard but not on your zip.

This help article helps explain the process for logging exercise:

This has to be one of the worst experiences I have had. I received my fitbit charge in the mail. I opened the box to find a wristband, a charge cable and something called a "dong" or something like that (never have heard the term). I looked for information to start and found none! I actually believe I have downloaded some kind of "fitbit" app on my phone, but have no idea where to go now. I am now staring at the wristband, charging cable, dongle, and phone with no idea what to do next? please help.

@ntwigg there should have been a piece of paper within the packaging that directed you to the web site for setting up your fitbit. I guess yours didn't have this.

You can set up your fitbit using either a PC or a phone.

To setup using a PC go to: www.fitbit.com/setup

Download the software and run it and it will lead you through the setup

To setup using a phone you need to check whether your phone is compatible via: www.fitbit.com/devices

If it is compatible then one of these help files will guide you through the setup depending on what type of phone you have:

Finally, here's a link to the main help page for the Charge: http://help.fitbit.com/?p=charge

Near the top you will see a link to the online manual which can also be found at: https://staticcs.fitbit.com/content/assets/help/manuals/manual_charge_en_US.pdf

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Amjohnson5. It's nice to see you here. I apologize for the delayed response and will be glad to assist you with your getting started inquiry.

After setting up your device you can start using it. You will update your stats on your account by syncing your device.

You can also check the manual that our friend @SteveH shared with you.

Thank you for visiting the forums and let me know if you have questions.
