My fitbit is logging far too many steps!

Yesterday my fitbit went from counting my steps (I average between 10,000 and 20,000 depending on what I'm doing) and jumped to like 185,000 steps! It has continued today. I tried uninstalling the app and then reinstalling it. I also pulled the battery out of my fitbit. It's a zip, by the way. Anyone have any idea what's going on or any other suggestions? I assure you that I did not walk 200,000 steps yesterday nor have I done that so far today.

I have a fitbit zip with similar issues. It's hooked on my belt and love thousands of steps while I'm working at my computer. I just got it and am wondering what's the solution to an issue that seems very common

Hi Lena - I had this exact issue happen yesterday. However, I was able to remove the battery and replace and now it's working fine. The problem is, my mileage from yesterday is at a whopping 36 miles when I only walked 4 miles yesterday. How can I change my mileage to correct for this malfunction?
