@Robbo59 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! That may be happening as a result of a false contact between the battery and the metal clip inside the tracker. The best thing to do is to bend that metal clip a little bid to make sure it has contact with the battery. Check this post to get more details and find links that will direct you to the steps.
