Sudden HORRIBLE ZIP battery life.

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

After recent app updates, our Zip devices are AGAIN depleting the battery in LESS THAN 2 Days !  This was an earlier problem, solved by turning off ‘All Day Sync’. Now, it is back on & no way to disable it.  Ready to throw these away & start tracking on our iphones !!!!!!!!!!!!!

iIs anyone from FitBit’s new owners LISTENING ?  At all ? Ever ?

I agree and this has been an on and off problem even when it was still being marketed. After a couple of weeks with 2 - 5 days battery life when this package is gone I will be giving my zip up even though I love it. There is nothing else available from Fitbit that interests me. I don't want a device that I wear on my wrist. I have a watch that I like.

I found I could disable bluetooth for fitbit, only enable it when I want to sync, then turn it back off. Doing this, my FitBit Zip battery is still at 100% after 7 weeks !! Clunky, to be sure, but FitBit does not seem interested in helping, sadly.

Come on Fitbit, address and fix this issue. Our Zip's are virtually useless. The battery I inserted yesterday is already showing low levels.

Hey @Cooper2008 and @Gfkdrobi,

Check your battery connections, they could likely use some tweaking to maintain a better connection. Mine lasts for months at a time.

Regarding "is anyone from Fitbit listening", possibly, but as this is a member-supported forum, where users of the devices try and help one another, so you're barking in the wrong place, however, you can reach Fitbit by clicking this link.

Thanks for the response. I've looked at the connections but what specifically am I looking for? It looks ok to me. At various times mine would last for months too but just recently they went to lasting just days. As for my comment regarding corporate Fitbit people, they used to monitor these chats and weigh in regularly. I'm not sure if they do anymore or not.

@Cooper2008 you're welcome. Regarding "looked at the connections but what specifically am I looking for", I'd included a photo, if you can't see it from your phone, maybe try from the computer, as it will show the tabs that you'll want to slightly pry. A small swiss-army style knife or even a paperclip can help to move them out. What happens is over time the metal wears and pushes away from the battery, creating a poor connection, and by correcting them, works well, provided there aren't other issues with the tracker. I had these same problems prior to readjusting mine. Regarding Fitbit mods, I've seen them here occasionally. Recently one was bumping posts from 2018 for no clearly stated reason, it was rather weird. They're likely more active in the forums for currently supported units as they're able to guide people to warranty services, etc. Possibly, they only engage here when someone flags a post. TBH, I've gotten lots of great tips and tricks here from other community members in the past several years and never once bumped into a conversation with a moderator, FWIW.
