Sync to wrong day

Hello.
I have a Fitbit Zip. Late last night my battery died before I could do a final sync before bed. This morning I bought a new battery and put it in. When it woke up and synced to my phone- it had synced all of yesterday's steps to today's log. So it's saying I have 10,000+ more steps today than I have actually taken.
I've already checked my time zone and everything looks correct. How do I fix this problem?
