Taking out Zip's Battery while is not in use

I use my Zip primarily as a backup device. I'll often go a month at a time without using it, then use it on a single day, then go back to not using it.

I was wondering, would there be any major issue to just removing the battery when not in use?

It seems like that would extend the battery life significantly when I am not using it, though I imagine it might confuse the date/time on the Zip.

Hi @SunsetRunner - No issue with that what-so-ever. Once you put the battery back in and sync the tracker, the date/time should be accurate.

Nice to see you here @SunsetRunner! Adding to @Ozzie65's amazing advice, please take into account that data could be lost if your tracker is not synced before taking out the battery for a long period of time.
