Tracker not found error

I've been experiencing this problem for several days now. My Zip refuses to sync with my Android phone. It may be "looking" for a few seconds or several minutes, but always returns a "tracker not found" message. When I try to sync from my husband's Android device, it gives me the same message the first time, but will sync on the second attempt.

I have replaced the battery, removed & re-added the Zip as a new device on the app, turned off & restarted my Bluetooth, etc. but still getting the same results.

Welcome to the Forums @nanecarpe! I really appreciate all the troubleshot you have performed to solve this. If you haven't already done so, please double check the help article Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

Please note that if you recently upgraded to OS 6.0 (Marshmallow) you must have location services turned on to sync your tracker. With this latest update, Google changed the permissions for Bluetooth syncing, requiring the use of location services. For more information about the latest Google permission requirements, see Google’s Android 6.0 Changes document here: document here. We are working hard trying to find a work around for this new change from Google to ensure you can sync your tracker.

Keep me posted!!:)

I am having the same problem, started on Monday. Only my PC will sync (not my Android) and the PC sync is not reliable.

I am also having the same problem.  My Zip synced properly three days ago.  Then the battery died.  I replaced the battery today. The Zip is recording steps, etc., but it won't sync to my Motorola phone.  I tried restarting the device; restarting the phone; turning the Bluetooth off then waiting then turning back on; and turning on location services.  None of these worked.  I need help.

I have tried all of the suggestions, and still no success. I am now able to sync via my PC, though.

HOWEVER, now there is a NEW development that started 2 days ago -- my Zip is displaying the incorrect time (it is 3 hours behind the actual time).

I have gone into advanced settings and corrected the time zone multiple times, syncing after each time, but once I exit the app it goes back to the incorrect time zone.

What is going on??

Well, I don't know how or why, but suddenly today my Zip has been syncing just fine and it's displaying the correct time all day so far -- just like nothing was ever wrong at all. Go figure...

It WAS working fine for most of today, but now it's back to "tracker not found".

I've been having the same problem since about the new year. I've tried everything that she has, as well as all that has been "suggested." I have a brand new battery in my zip and the location on my device is on. This is happening to way too many people with this tracker to be "user error."

It's been 3 days since the most recent update, and my Zip is now consistently syncing properly, and the time zone error has been corrected also -- hooray!
