I have just wrestled with my zip for about a good 1/2 or longer to replace the battery twice to only discover each time that nothing comes on the screen at all.... no matter how much I tap it... the batter is in the right way as I can fel the slight bumps on the top of the new battery(s). frustrated that's for sure... is my zip toast??? woke up to nothing at all on the screen that's why I started switching batteries... any suggestions?? thanks 🙂

Welcome to the Forums @jewlrIn this case, I would recommend checking the metal spring inside the Zip's battery compartment. Sometimes your tracker will have battery issues when this is bent. You can follow this process in this post by @vomitofthemind. Also, make sure that you are using a 3V coin battery, CR2025. It can be found wherever batteries are sold.

Keep me posted! 🙂

thanks for the info I got it sorted out its still alive and well... I got my mom to check it out and it turns out I had accidently put the battery in upside down... I didn't realize that when you open the back it actually jumps out and flips over so thankfully she could see once she looked online that I had it in upside down she put it in the right way and it was good to go 🙂 times like this being a visually impaired person is not the greatest lol 🙂 but I swear as funny as I sounds I have actually been putting the batteries in that way for ages and it works... but I am not totally sure of that lol but now I kno the smooth part faces up which is the positive side of the battery and the negative side with the small bumps faces down 🙂 thank you so much I feel so dumb but oh well at least its working well now next time I will get someone to check on the spring 🙂
