Won't sync consistently

Recently changed battery...thought all was well but just won't sync right. Takes forever now or some days wont work at all.

Mine is odd too.. like it won't sync right away and I'll have to click on each step to see how many steps I took, calories I burned. etc.

@Gamjs Welcome to the Fitbit Community and thanks for stopping by @savanahrae2269! It's odd that your Zip trackers are not syncing with your Dashboard even though you have troubleshooting this issue by changing the battery. I'd like to share with you both this help article in order to get this issue fixed and have your trackers synced with your Dashboard again.

I've changed my battery twice and it won't sync right any more. When it says it has often the counts don't match. GRRRR

@Beyondfrustrate A warm welcome to the Community and thanks for joining us! Sorry to hear that even though you changed the battery, your Zip is not syncing properly. I'd like you to take the battery again, move the metal compartments that hold the battery and clean them with a cotton swab. After this, put the battery back in and try to sync your tracker.

My zip will not sync after 2yrs of synking fine. I was told by customer service by phone that there is a on-going problem with windows synking and they are working on it. I checked back for up date by e-mail and was told all kinds of b.s. it could be this could be that, change battery, reboot, but never about on going problem. Has anyone else heard about on going sync problem with zip and windows?

I am having this issue as well today. Battery appeared to have died (no email notification received) so replaced the battery (and lost the 3000 steps I had completed). Zip is now showing anywhere from a blank gray sreen, to 7 steps taken, to 5000+ steps taken. Will briefly show some innacurate variation of step count and then the image reverts back to the blank screen. Extremely frustrating!

There was an app update yesterday. Is this the cause of these massive issues?

I just got mine 2 days ago and it isn't syncing properly. Frustrating

If you have the receipt I would suggest returning it. I have had syncing problems the entire past month since I've owned a fitbit and I am not convinced it is a reliable device.

I've had my zip for over a year and have never had any issues. I think it's due to whatever this last update was.
