Zip Misbehaving

My Zip is 2 1/2 years old and has generally worked as advertised.  Battery life is sporadic - sometimes lasting 6 mos and sometimes 6 weeks.  However, recently it has begun acting strangely.  Most noticeable is the time will be all over the place when I randomly tap on it to wake it up.  Sometimes ahead, sometimes behind.  Same with steps, distance and calories.  I can no longer rely on the display data, however if I sync it either on my PC or iPhone it reports correctly to my dashboard and then the display corrects itself - for a while anyway.  Later the same day it will be out of whack again.  Occasionally data on the display will be carried over from the previous day (depending on how the time is off) but syncing it shapes it up and we move on.  Again, data from memory still seems to be reporting to my dashboard correctly.  What's up?

Welcome to the Forums @mrnimble! Thanks for sharing your experience with your Zip. I wanted to assure you that we take into consideration all the comments provided by our users to continue improving your experience.

In this case, I would recommend checking the metal spring inside the Zip's battery compartment. Sometimes your tracker will behave oddly when this is bent. The process can be followed here.

Keep me posted with the outcome! 🙂
