There is no band for the Zip as was made to best work on your waist, not the wrist.

Have you considered getting one that goes on the wrist?

The Zip is designed to be worn on the core of the body, belt, pocket, bra, shirt neckline are some of the places that it will work,  while on the arm it will not be accurate.

I think I saw a band for Zip on Amazon, but it is generic, not put out by FitBit

Yes you did, but please remember that unlike the arm mounted units the Zip does not have the ability to help remove false steps from excess arm movements.

So do all the Fitbit models that are intended to be arm mounted remove false steps from arm movements?  I personally like my Zip because it is not arm mounted.  I also have a watch that counts steps, but when I am holding the rail on the treadmill it doesn't count steps.

Yes all the arm mounted trackers have logic to help remove false an movements. Your Zip also has some logic to remove false body motions.

The trackers use an XYZ axis sensor to detect movement. The Zip which is mounted on the core of the body looks for core motions that are conducive of steps being taken. While the arm models are looking for arm motions that say your feet are moving. If the arm is holding on to the railing as you walk up the stairs, then it is not moving on a way that naturally says that your walking. Steps may be lost, on the other hand start doing something that cause an up/down motion of the arm you may receive steps. But tap your foot long enough the Zip could also give steps, walk across a plush carpet, our miss field the Zip may miss steps.

All the trackers shine during the daily run/walk

Don't bother with those generic bands anyway, as they are well nigh impossible to fasten. Dreadful closure design.
