I just recieved a notification on my phone and email that my zip has a low battery, and it also has a little flashing battery sign in the corner of the screen. What type of battery does it have and how long will I have before it goes flat? I won't be home for a few days to get the thing to open the back, is there any other way to open it? I have had it for about four months. Is this a normal time for the battery to last?

It takes a CR2025 battery which should last up to 6 months.
If you don't have the tool to open the battery case then try a small coin.
Sorry, but I don't know how long you have before it runs out completely.

Welcome to our Community @captainswan! Thanks for joining us! I noticed @SteveH provided you with great information to help you resolve this. I'd like to add that before replacing your battery you know that sometimes the side spring may be bent as a result of improper battery insertion or pressure being applied to the back housing. Please verify that there is proper contact between the battery and the battery contacts inside your Zip tracker. You can do this by opening the battery door of your Zip, removing your battery, and ensuring that the silver battery tab located in the lower right half of your tracker is flush with the white box outline in the tracker housing. The process can be followed here.
