Zip battery short life

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I received my zip Sept 8 because I couldn't buy another fitbit one after it had quit 16 months after purchase to replace a lost 5 year old fitbit one.  Not pleased but dealing with it until within 4 days I had to replace the zip battery.  Today I replaced the 5th battery since Sept 8.  I'm through.  I'm sending it back for a refund and not purchasing any more fitbit products.  I hate watches and don't understand the production team's mentality.  You like them, fine, but quit telling me I have to use something I don't want.

Hi

It's possible to get a refund when purchased the tracker from fitbit and having less than 45 days since purchase.

'I've been notified that there are reports of Zip battery draining quickly on iOS version 2.41.1 and our team is currently investigating. If you are experiencing this, we recommend disabling all-day-sync for now. I'll update this post once I hear more. Thanks as always for your patience and understanding.

If your Zips are showing low battery notices showing or turning off it may be a connection issue between the battery and the tracker. To correct it, take out the battery and you should see a metal spring in the battery compartment, check if the metal spring is making contact with the battery and it is lined. Here is how it should look like:

When your Zip shows a low battery sign, it means that the battery needs to be replaced, a fresh 3V coin battery, CR2025 will need to be put in; open the Zip with the door tool and replace the old battery, like this:

Since needed to buy so many batteries cause the battery issue.

When desired it's possible to contact the fitbit support team, they can be contacted from the official contact page.

It's up to them to decide.

Awesome help @SunsetRunner! Cat Very Happy Welcome to the Fitbit Forums @Hstewart968! Your Zip's battery should last up to 6 months with regular use.

To get the most out of your battery, make sure your Zip is on the latest version. You can check for an update by following the instructions at How do I update my Fitbit device? help article.

I hope this helps, keep me posted! 😉

I just purchased another two pack of the batteries - $7.99.  I have followed the directions about the turning off non-stop reporting and I've checked the metal lever.  Since I've already done that a week ago and that battery was dead this morning, I'm not impressed that those are solutions.  When this battery is out, back it goes to Amazon with a nasty note.  They should not be selling something that doesn't perform.
