Zip clearing steps

I've been using my Zip for about 9 months now, and except for battery issues it's been a reliable tracker. The past couple of days it's been having tracking and syncing issues.

Two days ago it didn't reset at midnight, it reset when I synced the following morning.

Today it's been going nuts! It's been dropping steps like crazy and randomly resetting to zero, and I'm short about 5000 steps from where I should be. I'm on the treadmill right now and it decided to give me 200 steps when I should be at about 2000.

My Fitbit app is up to date (iOS) and I've tried resetting my Fitbit.

I'm having the same issues with mine as well - I'm so disgusted that I caved in and bought the charge2 but I do enjoy my zip thou, it usually works great other then eating my batteries to no end LOL

Thanks for sharing your experience with your Zip @bams! 🙂 Welcome to the Forums @Linzon! I appreciate your feedback about your Zip's battery and for all the troubleshooting steps already you took before posting here.

This is an odd situation, your Zip should not be clearing your steps all of a sudden. In this case, I would recommend checking the metal spring inside the Zip's battery compartment. Sometimes your tracker will have battery issues when this is bent. This process can be followed here.

I hope this helps, keep me posted with the outcome! 🙂
