I recently started re-using a Zip that I found at the back of a drawer and stuck a fresh battery in. However, I'm finding that it's not accurately capturing all my steps. It doesn't really seem to start tracking any steps until I've taken around 4 or 5 in a row without stopping, so most of the steps I take back and forth in my kitchen or laundry room aren't captured, and I recently counted 36 steps in my head while walking around my house and it only recorded 18. This was on the screen of the actual device, so it's not a synching error, either.
I've tried wearing it clipped into a pocket, on my waistband, on a shirt pocket, and on my bra, and it's the same irrespective of where it's clipped. It seems to record steps all right if it's sustained movement, but it doesn't capture them when I only take a few at a time.
It's years since I've used this Zip, so I don't recall if this was an issue before, but it's been persistent since I started using it again.
Any ideas what's going on?
