Zip is carrying step count from one day to the next. This happened twice in the last week. The carryover happens one day, then syncs okay the next night, then the next day does not sync to start at zero. Removing/replacing the battery did not matter because it happened a second time. This is the first time this has happened in four years of use. Syncing is via iPad.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @SunsetRunner! Thank you for sharing your experience with Fitbit Zip. This is really helpful for us and keep us improving our products and services.
In this case, I would recommend checking the metal spring inside the Zip's battery compartment. Sometimes your tracker will have battery issues when this is bent. To do so, you may follow @vomitofthemind's post with the instructions to fix this.
I hope this helps, keep me posted! 🙂
