Zip showing steps not taken

My Zip shows that I have already taken over 8000 steps this morning.  When I look at the actual log of my steps on Fitbit.com, it shows that I've actually only taken 177 steps (which is accurate since I only just got up).  It isn't carried over from yesterday since yesterday's steps are recorded accurately.

I'm having the same issue.

I am having the same problem.  We were in a different time zone yesterday so all of the steps that I had yesterday rolled over into today so now my total for today includes all of the steps that I had yesterday plus the steps that I have so far today.  There has to be a way to correct this, right?

My new zip added 34,000 steps while sitting on my dresser this morning. How do I delete those steps? Why did this happen? (No fan or movement in the room)

Well, I ended up with over 15,000 steps yesterday!  Which sounds great but of course I still had to subtract the 8000 I somehow started with.  It did reset over night to zero, so we'll see if somehow it mysteriously gives me steps overnight.

Someone mentioned a fan, though.  I do have a/c going in the house. Would that somehow increase the numbers?  It's not like I'm standing right in front of it or anything.

Mine had extra yesterday as well. I am going to take the battery out replace with a new one and see if it will fix the issue. I've had this one since January so maybe it's just a battery problem.

I was able to 0 out the steps added while doing nothing. There is another thread that talks about adding an activity for driving for the same duration as the mystery steps and it does work. It took me a dozen tryes to get it right but finally make it work.
