fitbit zip won't add steps

I changed the battery this morning and now i have no steps, etc. and the last picture (?) looks like a woman with her hair on fire!

What the heck is going on?  I synced it this morning after the new battery was installed.

Mine stopped tracking steps this morning.  Guess they want us to buy the new stuff and hope it doesn't stop working too!!

I like my fitbit zip.  I hate wearing things on my wrist!  I synced mine again when I got home and now it works.  Whatever!
