Why does fitbit need access to my text messages and why does it want to access my camera/video without my permission? Is there a way to uninstall latest update in the app and go back to previous one on Galaxy S5?

Since the app serves all the trackers, it needs access to things that each device might use.

The text messaging is for devices that access notifications for you (Charge, Surge, Blaze).

The camera access is for scanning barcodes for the food database and sharing statuses on Facebook.

If you look at Fitbit's privacy policy, they do not access them unless you request it or store the data.
