Very recently I’ve started noticing how my Fitbit starts with added extra steps reaching the 10,000’s. 9:00 in the morning and I’ve only just put it on and I’ve reached my 10,000 step goal already for the day despite not even taking a step. I noticed the other day that it was the same and I was up by 15,000 somehow. I definitely know I hadn’t walked that much and was confused but put it off as it being weird and hoping it would fix itself the next day, leading up to today. Please help! I know the problem isn’t stride length as I haven’t even walked with it on this morning

Hi @Sera322. Welcome! It's nice to see a new face around.
Thanks for letting me know about your Fitbit, as well for your efforts while working on this. It's odd that you're getting that amount of steps before wearing it. Just to confirm, may I know if there was a fan or anything that may have been buzzing or vibrating on the same surface that your Fitbit was placed on? While we don't have a way to remove those steps tracked, I'd recommend to restart your Fitbit to correct any misbehavior and monitor its behavior on the next days.
If you continue having this issue, please let me know the model of your Fitbit so I can investigate.
Keep me posted.

Hi! Yeah I had it placed on a surface where nothing buzzing or vibrating was on. I also have tried restarting the device but it seems that now my steps have rolled over from yesterday to today which is over 12,000 steps. When I restarted it it seemed to have work for about a second where it showed me the correct amount of steps that I had taken (I did it after midnight so it was only around 20 steps) I then left it for a minute and came back and saw that it had the same steps it had before restarting which was the 12,000 steps. My device is the inspire! It’s happened for the last couple of days now
