Active minutes since update.

Has anyone's active minutes gone completely mental since updating? Mine seems to think I've done 56 active minutes today despite just walking to the toilet :l. It's reaking havoc with my fitness pal at the moment too, as that seems to think I've burnt 700 cals already today!

yes mine hasnt been working for about a month now. I have the charge hr which i love, it is set to count active minutes on any thing over 10 minutes. everything was fine before the update, it will only count activity by walking or running. Even if i add in an hour long pilates session now it doesnt count it as acitivty. yesterday it said i walked for 30 minutes, great, theni added my 30 minutes of pilates (normally this should now say 60 active minutes) however it subtracked the 30 minute walk and i had zero active minutes. Calorie burned still works fine. But im more motivated when all my items are green. im sure it will fix itself

Hi there @vixx24 @Holybatman. I'm glad to see you around!

Some things have cahnged lately about how active minutes are recorded but some are still the same.

If an activity gives you active minutes one day and fewer active minutes the next day, remember that the intensity of exercise is key. Often what seems like the exact same amount of effort over the same distance in fact differs slightly enough to change your active minutes total.

To align with CDC recommendations, the new metric more accurately reflects both moderate and high-intensity exercise. Because active minutes include moderate exercise, you should see:

  • A higher active minutes total than you previously saw with very active minutes.
  • An improved ranking in group leaderboards for active minutes.
  • An increase in active minutes when you look at data for previous days.

All of these improvements are designed to give you a more accurate view of your active time throughout the day.

Hope this helps and if you have any other question, let me know! 🙂
