My wife got an Alta for Mother's Day but I cannot get it to connect to her iPhone 5s on the most current iOS. On the initial pairing screen it says that it's found the Alta but will not connect to it. The screen just continues to show "connecting to tracker".
I have
-uninstalled and reinstalled the fitbit app
-I have tried to connect the Alta to another device, it will not connect there either.
-I have restarted and started the phone and Bluetooth multiple times
-I have tried to plug the Alta into the power outlet at the same time
-I have moved all her other fitbits away from the unit
-and I have change the time zone on the phone.

@Rannondale -- try turning off bluetooth on any other devices nearby including tablets, computers etc. Not just hers but yours too.
Go through the restart procedure for the Alta.
- Plug your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or any USB power adapter.
- Insert the other end of the cable into the port on the back of your Fitbit Alta™. Your Alta will begin charging.
- Press the button on your charging cable three times within eight seconds, briefly pausing between presses. The button is on the end of the charging cable that is plugged into your computer.
- Eight seconds after the first button press, you'll see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This means Alta is restarting.
- After you see the logo you can unplug your tracker from the charging cable.
