My wife and I have recently bought iPhones. We are both interested in tracking exercise and installed the Fitbit App within a week of each other. Neither of us have a Fitbit device yet but mine is on order and due to arrive this week.
In the meantime we are both using the app without pairing it. My wifes app has 8 tiles available for the dashboard while mine has 6. I am missing both the steps and distance tiles. This is based on both the visible and the hidden tiles. I have looked through the various threads which cover this subject and none seem to give a reasonable answer to why the steps are missing in some instances but none mention the distance tile. In other respects the app seems to be behaving reasonably but we are at a loss to explain the difference.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello @SunsetRunner, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. It's great to see you too @MakMak, thanks for all your help.
@SunsetRunner, I appreciate you have reached us through the forums to report this situation. Tell me, as neither of you have a Fitbit device setup in your account, have you set up MobileTrack in both phones? If so, please tap the Account button and check that MobileTrack appears under the list of paired devices. If it's showing in your account, please reply to me with a screenshot of your Dashboard and a screenshot of your Account (in the Fitbit app) so I can check this further.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, I'll be waiting to hear from you.

This is a total guess, but do you have different iPhone models? Some support MobileTrack, which uses the phone's accelerometers to give you steps and some do not.

They are exactly the same apart from colour. Both updated to the latest ios11.
It seems to me that it is the app or how it is reacting to some difference in the setup of the two phones or the app itself but I can't see what. I find it a bit frustrating that I have access to the female health trends but not the steps!!

Thank you. It didn't and setting it up resolved the problem. As you already guessed my wife had already done so.
