App doesn’t show current information after syncing without restarting the app

I’ve been having this problem since the new google interface appeared but since I can close and restart the app to get the updates, I’ve ignored it.  But it does get annoying needing to close and restart it all the time.  I was going to just shut it down every time, but then I get the message to keep the app running all the time for best results.  I have a charge 5 and iPhone 13.
