My exercise goals in the app won't let me change the days I excessive from 5 days..... There's 1-7 days but when I try to change it to 3 days it changes right back to 5 days.... My friend has the same app and hers changes no problem...
Any ideas? We have tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it. Shutting the iPhone off and turning it back on. Nothing works.

Hi there @Rahenna, welcome aboard to our Community. Thank you for letting me know about this. I just updated my app to the most recent version on Android which is 2.39.1. Indeed, the option to change the exercise goal was missing as you mentioned.

So I investigated a little bit more to find a solution and on iOS the option still is available and other team members using Android, has also the option available; so what I did was the following:

  • Log out from the Fitbit app.
  • Force quit all the apps running in the background.
  • After this, I uninstalled the app and install it again.
  • Open the Fitbit app and log back in to your Fitbit account.
  • After this the option to change the exercise goal was available again.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

Hi @Victoria2016

Moved this thread from the Alta to the iOS section since being a app related issue & increases the chance of getting a solution.

Wishing a beautiful day

It's nice to see you around @Victoria2016 Woman Very HappyBy default your exercise goal is set to five days. You can change your goal to a different number of days, but you must have a minimum goal of one day. You can change your goal for current and future weeks, but you can’t adjust it for past weeks. Note that you can only modify exercise goals using the Fitbit app. It's not possible to set or change exercise goals using the fitbit.com dashboard.

Are you doing the following in order to change your exercise goal?:

  1. On the Fitbit app dashboard tap the Exercise tile to open your exercise history. This is the tile that says "Track exercise" if you haven't worked out today. If you've already worked out, you'll see the exercise category on the tile instead (for example, Run or Hike).
  2. Tap the gear icon in the top right corner and tap your weekly exercise goal to change it.

Thanks for moving the post @SunsetRunner, hope you both have a great day!

Hi, I just wanted to say that I was actually having the same problem as @Victoria2016.
But my problem was fixed when I uninstalled the app and installed it again though. But it took me a couple of tries for it to get fixed.

Did this option disappeared in recent updates. I originally setup 6 days a week but would want to bring it back to 5. After pressing the gear icon I only get the options for automatically detecting activities...

@Ombrage2, if you login to your Fitbit app and go to your account and tap on exercise under goals tap on your 5days and you should be able to select 1-7. After you make your selection go back to goal and you should see your change .

I do understand that, but for some reason is not there. Once I hit the gear it only gives me the option to adjust the time for activities to be recognized...

@Ombrage2, that's odd. So from the dashboard you tap on the exercise title and it takes you to your exercise history and on the upper right corner you tap on the gear icon and you should see two titles highlighted. One for goals (you should see a number and day with a > sign) and the other should say auto recognized (it will list all your shortcuts). If your not seeing the goals tab then I would say you need to contact customer support. I'm not sure but they may have you delete and reinstall your device. What version are you using on your tracker, Fitbit app and phone. I heard of some odd things happening with iOS 10 but this is the first for exercise tile missing the goals tab. Let us know what customer support recommend and if it corrected your problem.

I used to be able to change my five day exercise goal to 7 day. But Now the option is gone. I go to my app then I go to running picture icon. I click on it and it shows "this week" now I go to the top right I click on exercise goals and it only gives me the auto regognized excersises. I want to be able to change it back from 7 days to 5 days.

Hi everyone and welcome aboard to our Community @Adrianafit. Just as @Aclobos has been suggesting, this option has not been removed from the Fitbit app.

In order to change the amount of days for the exercise goals, go to the main Dashboard > Here look for the Activity tile > Tap and the exercise history will be display, now go to the Gear Icon in the right upper corner. (Probably you will see a small introduction to learn more about this, so just skip it or go through to it to have access to the settings of the Exercise goal.)

So, now that we are here, press the option of Goals where it says the amount of days you have configured. > In the next screen, is just matter to select the days you want and that would be it. Press the return button and your new goal will be set.

This is for iOS devices, but I would like to clarify the process for Android is the same. However while I was investigating this issue to give you an answer, I found the previous version of the Fitbit app for Android, for some reason had a glitch and the option was not showing. The issue was resolved as soon I have updated to the version 2.35. So make sure you are running the latest version if you are on Android.

Hope this helps and let me know if you have more questions.

Hi there @kion, welcome aboard to our Community. As I mentioned before I had the same problem on Android. The option of to change exercise goals was not showing, but it was fixed as soon I installed the new version of the Fitbit app.

So if you are running the Android app, with the last versions. Try to log out from your fitbit app and restart your phone. Once it has loaded, log back in and try again.

Let me know how it goes. I'll be here if you have more questions.

I have the same problem as kion - same screenshot applies. I just got my Fitbit a few days ago and I'm using version 3.9 of the Android app. Per the Play store, there is no update available. When will this be fixed?
