The app used to automatically update my step count and show my current heart rate. No it only updates step count when I sync and it never displays current heart rate. It only displays resting heart rate.

Thanks for the details shared in your post. I appreciate your efforts and recommend confirming that the live data setting of your device is turned on. You can only check this setting via the online fitbit.com dashboard: click the gear icon > click Settings > select your device > you will see the Live Data option. Please also do the following:

Replied too soon. This morning it’s not doing live updates of steps nor displaying heart rate. Same problem as before.

I am sorry to hear the issue persists. I recommend to force quit the app, open it and manually sync your tracker: How do I manually sync my tracker or watch?
