App recording straight lines when out cycling

When using the app to track cycle ride all It’s recording is straight lines between points on the map. Any ideas please to solve this. Is it a gps issue?.

@Budyeates   It does sound like you have a GPS issue -- if you are getting long, straight lines that are off the roads.  This Help article might help you with your mapping issue.

Thanks for that, I’ve started using an old phone now which strangely tracks with no problems. For some reason connectivity can be a issue, struggles sometimes. Had an original charge hr with none of these issues, just a dreadful strap.
