I found that if I close the app on my iPhone 11 and reopen the app it will update the battery most of the time.

I'm wearing an Inspire 2 and had the same experience with a mismatch between actual charge and the charge displayed on the app for several days.  Noticed it but didn't think much about it or really care.  Then a few days later it has completely stopped recording (or displaying) detailed sleep analysis, HRV and breathing.  I have done basically everything that can be done, reset unit, logoff app. No fix  Delete app, restore device to factory settings, reinstall app, restore as a new device as well as talked to customer service.  I came over here wondering if anyone was reporting similar issues on other devices as only one other Inspire 2 user has reported a similar problem on our device forum.  Anyway, good luck.  If you begin to experience failures in nighttime recording, please do report it. Customer service asked me to wait for 3-5 days and then get back with them if I still have a problem.  I am unclear if this a problem they are working on in the background or he just wanted to kick the can down the road.

I manually updated my app to 3.53 on Sunday.  I have had no sleep scores since then, and the battery level has not been fixed.  This is getting worse and worse.

BTW, I have rarely gotten HRV and Breathing Rates since I bought the device, except maybe a dozen times in the last year.  I've given up, as all Fitbit knows how to do is say reinstall the app and reboot the Versa 3 device.

Just low quality hardware, software, and support.

I have a theory and wonder if your experience coincides.  The latest IOS update was 1/26/22.  The morning of 1/27 is exactly when my nighttime stats quit. My apps update automatically on release so that's the date it was updated to my phone.  No detailed sleep stages, HRV and breathing rate.  Therefore daily readiness score is also bogus. They acknowledged that there was bug prior to this that was causing the mismatch between the battery charge level reported on-app during a sync and the actual charge on the device.

I have the charge 4. Nothing’s changed. I still get detailed sleep stages
but battery level still not syncing.--

That suggested solution does not work for me. I think it was some time in December 2021 the battery percentage in the app stopped reflecting the correct battery display on my Ionic. I held all three buttons for a period on the watch to restart it and killed the app in iOS. I think it then displayed the correct percentage once and then it stopped being correct shortly afterwards. Pretty sure this is a new bug that needs to be fixed.

Hi everyone, and welcome to our new members.

Thanks for your continued reports, and for every step tried on your own. Let me share that our team is aware of this situation and they're working on a fix. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this has caused and please know your feedback hasn't gone unnoticed, and will be passed along to them.

Please note the battery percentage displayed on your Fitbit device should always be accurate. I'd also recommend the suggestions shared in my previous post.

Lizzie,

I think many of us are tired of hearing that the team is working on a fix.  Please consider the timeline:

December 8 - Version 3.52 is released

December 10 - Version 3.52.1 is released

December 12 - the first post in this thread noting the problem.  Obviously related to Version 3.52 or 3.52.1

January 26 - Version 3.53 is released WITHOUT THE PROBLEM BEING FIXED.  This is six weeks after the problem was identified in this thread.

So, saying that the team is working on it rings false.  If they broke it in a maintenance release on December 8, if they were really working on it they should have been able to fix it in six weeks.

Just saying.

Apparently clicking on Reply to this Post violates the rules or I did
something else in response to a different post. I appreciate the clarity of
this post and so wanted to reply. Lizzie, can you let me know if I did this
wrong again?

Thanks

Hi Roy,

Clicking on "Reply to this Post" does not work for me either.  I find I need to click on the thread name "Battery level won't update on Fitbit app after syncing" at the top of the email, go to the end of the thread on the website, then reply from that post on the website.

Hope this helps,

Joel

Sad. Oh well. This particular issue isn’t such a big deal. Easy work
around. I’ve given up on the other one I was hoping they would address. I
guess it’s not such a big deal for most users. --

As a matter of fact this last new release broke my sleep score stages. Where I always got a score not I get simplified. And just to mention did all the reboot disconnect and the. Connect and remove and reinstall blah blah blah. Let’s keep on breaking instead of fixing. Way to go Fitbit.

I couldn’t see the option for a new post so hoping a reply to this is helpful. I have noticed that it seems to sync overnight (maybe when the new day starts?) in the morning my phone and watch battery levels are in sync. During the day I close the app and open it again to get them in sync if I need to.

Nope. I was wrong. Phone and watch not the same this morning.

Im still having the same issues have to force close app and open again to show battery level the same as app and it does not hold. So frustrating this needs to be fixed already its been awhile now 😠😠😠

Mine is doing it now (wrong level shown.) When is a fix expected?

Hi Juan,

Both my wife and I have the same problem, in that the %charge on the watch and the %charge on the iPhone app is not the same. The iPhone was stuck on 17%.

So I rebooted both the watch and the stopped and started the iPhone app and it is now working fine.

Oh by the way I have a sense and the problem on the iPhone was when one dragged down the main screen (release to synch) it showed 17% all the time, for about 2 weeks,  until I did what I explained above.

I think the issue might be that the watch did a firmware update and the app was not restarted. I have not rebooted my iPhone or restarted the app for 2 weeks and when I did what I noted a few minutes ago.

I will try on my wife's iPhone to confirm but I logged on to try and resolve and found what I did worked for me.

It started after the recent watch f/w update and might be a mismatch between the watch and phone comms until both the phone app is restarted and phone rebooted. First reboot the watch then restart the phone app.

I hope you are not directing your question to me for an answer. I am just another innocent customer of Fitbit whose frustration over what is in effect the eventual demise of a product (in my case a Versa 2) that provided me with only a couple of years of reliable service.

One day we can wake up and a trusted device has lost much of its functionality and value. Not for the first time for one of my Fitbit devices. But alas, it may well be my last time. Such a shame. Pity the tech spec in their product marketing blub never specifies an estimated operational life span.

If you do expect an answer from me then I’m afraid my honest response would be “don’t hold your breath” but a more optimistic reply would be “when the cow’s come home”. Better you buy a replacement device; I personally find all my Fitbit products are excellent designs in terms of features, performance and style. Unfortunately they have appear to have an unspecified but finite lifespan.

With Versa 2, I appreciated the free SPo2 feature upgrade, but after a period that became unreliable to the point I had to buy a Braun product to overcome concern that I might pass away overnight through low blood oxygen level. I gave up on the SPo2 feature. Then after a further period my Fitbit stopped providing sleep scores. Then I noted the battery level reporting issue. That drove me in desperation to my message on this forum and discovery that I was not alone in my plight and it was not confined to the Versa 2. I believe this Comminity has provided enough feedback for Fitbit to resolve this problem if corporately they value a reputation for high quality customer support.

I have same issue.  I called Fitbit went through a whole series of resolutions, they never mentioned anything about other people having this issue. I found out other people were having it by calling up iPhone support. Can you please let us all know when this is resolved by letting us know!!  I’ve spent too much time on this already!

RobinRider,

I have responded to your posting but my message does not appear to be associated with yours on the forum.  Apologies, but I thought I had correctly followed Fitbit’s guidance for responses.
