I'm buying into the Fitbit ecosystem with a smart scale and a tracker, and I'm stoked about it. I want to move over about a year of weight and step data from Apple Health to Fitbit, but it looks like this isn't natively supported.
I found a third party app which claims it does this, but actually only syncs a month of data. Super annoying, especially because I paid for it! https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/myfitnesssync-for-fitbit-apple-health-to-fitbit/id1240275160?mt=8
Can I get some suggestions for better ways to do this? I assume Fitbit must be interested in people bringing in their data from other sources, but I haven't found much online to back this up. Thanks!

Hello @matt_nichols, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. It's nice to see you too @ACG. ![]()
@matt_nichols, I understand your concern and how important it is for you that the Fitbit app can sync with Apple Health. At this moment there are no plans to implement this feature however, we continue to evaluate new partners and will update you if we have news to share. Fitbit has a history of working with the community to bring potential features to reality, and we thank you for taking the time to share your ideas and suggestions.
I hope this can be helpful and resolves your inquiry, if there's anything else I can do for you please feel free to reply.
Best AnswerI'd expect better integration from Fitbit, they seem to be falling behind other providers.
I've just got a Fitbit, as I have more Apple devices than Fitbit trackers and they don't sync I'll be returning it.
Shame.

Try this for free. But Fitbit doesn't allow syncing of step data with its API, so you are out of luck for syncing your step history. Fitbit Import.

Best AnswerHas this feature become available yet? My wife has an apple watch and phone, and I have fitbit. We're wanting to compete against each other on the steps. But letting fitbit do this for us.
Thanks in advance!
I gave up waiting. Just bought my partner an Apple Watch 5 so we are on the same platform.
Unfortunately with google buying Fitbit to directly compete with apple, I do not foresee Fitbit being compatible with HealthKit (Apple Health) in any near future. It’s sad since I have an iPhone and have had to recently replace my Ionic due to it being lost/stolen. I would have expected a bit more interest from Fitbit to want to get more people to come into their community than see them walk away...though you can easily transfer Fitbit info over to fitness apps used by apple.
Actually, the GoogleFit app syncs with AppleHealth quite well! no issues, just sign-in and click sync. https://www.google.com/intl/en_us/fit/
So I don’t think it is valid to say that Fitbit won’t sync in the future with Google at the wheel. Google makes some of the best apps on iPhone and they work pretty well living in the Apple ecosystem.
(Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Maps, and many more)
Best AnswerUsing extra apps is a way to import but not everyone wants to deal with additional steps just to link 2 accounts. It very well may work but not in the sense of Fitbit linking directly to Apple health as was originally asked.
It looks like Google has bought Fitbit. Let's give Google some time to replace the Fitbit management with their own people. The problem with moving data off the Fitbit is not a technical issue but clearly a deliberate decision on the part of Fitbit management. They must have thought there is some business advantage in doing what they did. Let's hope Google thinks otherwise.
The "myfitnesssync" and others don't quite work well enough. There is plenty of good things you can do if the data were time-aligned.
In an ideal world, there would be sensors that log data in some industry-standard format and storage places that would archive it and display that would do analysis and display and all these would play together.
I don't think we can expect future development on fitbit. I don't remember anything Google bought in recent years to support and develop it. I notice they buy, take everything from it (innovations, patents, ideas, people) and kill the rest.
Thanks for that. It’s irritating they don’t allow step syncing. I have nearly two years of data I’d like to import from my phone. (I hadn’t realised that the Fitbit app would use the phone step count, so I didn’t use the app for 2 years after my Fitbit broke)
