I would love it if it Fitbit synced with the Health app from Apple. Someone please tell me it does and how to do it. I can't figure it out.

Right now, I'm using RunGap on iOS to retroactively sync data from Nike+, and TomTom (data logged all the way back to 2012). This is the only method I've discovered that has such capability. Supposedly, paying for RunGap's extra option ($1.99/month), with an in-app purchase, would allow me to share data to my to Fitbit and Strava. However, it appears the Apple Health app can get that information for free

This is entire analytics Olympics is a laborious process. It's rather embarrassing people's valuable, personal fitness data is locked up in a myriad of platforms. Compounding this is the stability Nike+ syncs does not have a good outlook. Side note: anyone reading this whom is interested in getting Nike+ data by my suggested method, do so immediately

I digress... if the Health app gets compatibility, I will be a Fitbit fan for life. Right now I'm exploring connecting Strava to Health. Still, this workaround is a huge pain and not intuitive for the general user base.

How is this a "solution"?

That really didn't say anything. I was seriously considering the new Fitbit but now am just turned off by that response alone.

Hi jsvnl since I cannot follow your thread I cannot vote. This topic has many responses. To what does your “this” refer. I most probably will agree with anyway.

Seems like a simple “no” would have sufficed...

Fitbit has a history of ignoring their user base (we've been asking for apple heath integration since 2012) and trying to force you to use only their products.  I bought a Fitbit scale because being a smart scale I assumed it would integrate with Apple and Android health.  That was in 2012.  After being frustrated for years with Fitbit's obstinance I bought a Withings scale which did integrate with Apple and Android's health applications. I was happy with for quite some time until Nokia acquired the company and removed all the important features from the app.

Now would be a good time for Fitbit overcome their own pride and integrate with Apple and Android.  There are many people out there like me and with the current state of things both Fitbit and Nokia are ripe to be displaced.

So it seems the answer to the question is, “You can’t”. Or am I misunderstanding this. Thanks.

I agree. It never even occurred to me that I wouldn’t be able to sync my FitBit data with a common app like Apple Health.

Thanks. I’m trying MyFitnessSync and it seems to work ok. But what an annoying extra step for something that seems so obvious.

I figured out how to sync my Aria to my health app via Myfitnesspal. sync fitbit to myfitnesspal. Then open it on your health app and go to weight. check on the apps and you will see myfitnesspal. Go to aria and get a new weight. it will sync up and you will see it update.

Power Sync does the magic for syncing fitbit data to Apple Health. Only drawback with free version is user need to click SyncNow manually. Paid version $1.99 sync automatically.

I would just like to add my voice to the chorus. This issue is not resolved in our view.

Your “solution” belongs on a campaign debate stage with the degree of evasiveness and side stepping of the issue. Let me be clear: your constituency (valued customers) would like you to work with Apple to ensure integration with the health kit!

I currently use power sync and have purchased the auto sync feature which to be honest seems a bit hit and miss even with the app running in the background. But Fitbit should open itself to Apple Health. Now if Fitbit ever sees these posts here is why it's bad to confine yourself away from Apple Health. I bought some new smart scales recently. I looked at yours but your whole Anti-Apple Health stance, and lets face it is is a stance, made me go for the Nokia Body+ (which sync to health). Now that's one pair of scales by one user but the warbles market is heating up and my next Fitbit may not be a Fitbit which would be a shame.

Oh and while this thread deals with the exporting of data. It would be nice to be able to export continuous HR data too.

The moderator's reply used a lot of words to say, no we've been busy doing other things that we wish you'd focus on, but that doesn't actually address your question in the slightest. The unfortunate thing is, I've read countless complaints about the lack of Health sync capabilities and the fitbits failure to accurately count steps (counting steps when people are driving or sleeping, something that never happened with my Jawbone tracker (Lord rest its soul)) that I'm not sure whose priority list Fitbit really cares about. Yes, your app needs to sync with Apple Health! The majority of the US population, who embraces technology, has at least one apple device. Heck even my 80 year old grandmother has an iPhone! Also, can you please, please make a tracker that is at least as good as a $15 pedometer is at counting steps?! Please!

Came here for this info.  Crazy to think FitBit doesn't do something as basic as sync directly to Apple Health.  Just got a FitBit and was considering the smart scale, but this seals the deal, definitely won't be purchasing it now.

I feel you have an obligation to do more in this area. This is only marketing disputes between your companies and we customers get the shaft

Do you think Fitbit will make the break through of being able to work with the Health app anytime soon?
