Blaze Won't Sync With iPhone or MacBook

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have tried the fix to 'forget' and pair my Blaze to my iPhone to no avail, now it currently tells me the pairing is unsuccessful due to taking too long. I have attempted to do an update as well as sync to my phone prior to unpairing it and it would not do either. I have also attempted to sync it on my MacBook through the Fitbit Connect App but that gives me an error message (An unknown error occurred while syncing). Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong? This device is right at six months old with just basic/daily use.

Hello @KierstenM, thanks for joining us!, it's nice to have you on board. Smiley Happy

If your tracker is taking a very long time to pair as a new device my suggestion would be restarting your tracker, then plug it in before attempting to set it up once again.

To restart your Blaze:

  1. Press and hold the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.
  3. If your tracker doesn't work normally, use the instructions in How do I turn off my tracker? to turn Blaze off and back on again.

If it's still hanging, please go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone, check if Blaze is on the list of paired devices; if it is, tap on it and select Forget this device, then restart your phone and try to set your Blaze as a new device once again. If you'd like to use a computer instead of a phone, please check @MarreFitbit's helpful instructions to do so.

Give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else! Smiley Wink

As I mentioned  already, I have already unpaired the Blaze from my phone but now it cannot pair to any device (I get an error that it takes too long to pair). I have also already reset my Blaze three times now, both before and after unpairing it, and it did not change anything. I have now tried connecting it to my iPhone, a Samsung Galaxy, and my computer, it will not connect to any of these devices.

I am having the exact same issues.  My watch every day I need to go in to the app to drag the app down to refresh and load everything from my watch to the app and when it dies it is a struggle to get it to re sync so it shows the right time.  It dies on Xmas morning and I wasn't worried about having it over the holidays.  I charged it boxing day night and have tried to sync it a few times so it will display the right time but am having no luck and I now notice it is not synced and it needs to do an up date. I thought maybe that was the case but after reading this I tried what was suggested and it does not show back up to hook it back up to my phone. So I'm in the same situation as kiersten and have a rather expensive paperweight

That's what happened, mine died and now I can't sync, can't do the update, it's showing the wrong day/time, and same with the paperweight.

I just came on here to post this exact problem. Mine has the wrong time, won't sync and won't update on the app or the watch. I have tried all the above trouble shooting solutions also. Is there anything else we can do to try to fix this?

Same problems. Won't update tracker of sync. Wonder if it is a compatibility issue with latest iOS update. I am using an iPhone 6 with latest update.

I have been using my blaze for nearly a year with no issues at all. Think it's a great bit of kit.

Mine is also doing the same thing. Time is stuck, won't update and my Bluetooth is missing in my settings on the watch to turn on/off.

Kristen, i called fitbit.  delete the fitbit from your systems bluetooth.  then go into the app and delete the old blaze. then add the device back.  it will tell you that you need to update the blaze and you say continue.  when it did this it updated the blaze automatically to the correct date and time.  the update may take about 10 minutes.    this will also show that your fitbit is updating with the line going accross it.  when this is done your fitbit should be good.

I just tried that but it still cannot 'find' my Blaze. I have attempted restarting the Blaze as well as turning off/on my Bluetooth to fix, which didn't work.

Tried that and still nothing.  At this point maybe Fitbit needs to contact each of us personally because this seems like a major problem for a lot of ppl and maybe discuss sending new devices or reimbursement

I called and they told me I had to send it in for diagnosis. I'm attempting to get my money back through an 'insurance' my husband purchased when he bought it through Amazon.

If you are running iOS 10.2 or later on your iphone, then you will need the latest firmware (version 8.301.8) on your Blaze. The Blaze had a sync problem that the latest firmware update fixed. Follow Fitbit's instructions to update your tracker's firmware. You can check your firmware version on your Blaze under Settings(on the Blaze) or in your iOS app under Account then Blaze. You may need to update your firmware using Fitbit Connect(and the wireless sync dongle) on your desktop computer. Since this is an iOS-related problem I don't think the firmware update can be done with your iphone if you are currently having a syncing problem.

I updated my blaze to the latest firmware last week and it worked for a few days and now it will not sink.  I have gone throw all of the procedures and nothing works.  The new firmware didn't fix the problem.

I have tried all of the suggestions over and over again and mine still won't sync! I am so frustrated! The clock is off and I can't do any challenges with my friends anymore and there doesn't seem to be any FIX!

i had the same issues, I removed the blaze from app and bluetooth, i rebooted my phone, went into settings on my blaze and switched off.

once my phone rebooted, i deleted fitbit app, rebooted again, then reloaded app.

then added new blaze, this time it all worked.

That's what I have to do every time I turn off Bluetooth on my iPhone or if I turn off my iPhone for a reboot. Fitbit engineers need to fix this problem. It worked perfect before the last iOS update.

OK.when I went through the procedures to get my fitbit Blaze to sink with my iPhone 6 my iphone blue tooth setting shows Blaze and Blaze Classic.  Which one should I be sinked with?

Very frustrating but I finally figured it out. In these steps, 1) remove the Fitbit 2)turn off Bluetooth, manually, not buy using the quick off swipe up. 3)Reboot the watch 4)reboot iPhone by holding the power button and the center button. 5) turn Bluetooth back on you iPhone 6) got to the Fitbit app and follow the set up your watch option. Hopefully this helps!
