Blaze not connecting with App to track exercise

Hello - I have a FitBit Blaze and I can't seem to connect the Blaze to App to start tracking my walk/ride. The error message says to check the app.

Everything else is syncing.

I have updated my software and iPhone is on iOS 10.2.

I've already rebooted the FitBit.

Any suggestions/thoughts?

@SunsetRunner  When you try to connect to phone to use the Connected GPS, do you have the FITBIT app open?  It has to be open and running (can run in background) to connect.

Maybe that will help~

I have the same issue, but I don't get any error messages, it just starts recording my steps etc as if it doesn't know about the iOS app running.

On the record it shows my walk etc but no map.

If I start the exercise from the iOS app that shows the map and pace etc as before.

When I first got the Blaze I was able to start and stop exercise from the Blaze and it interacted with the app perfectly but it has stopped working like that.

On the Blaze, go through to Exercise, pick the type of exercise, in my case 'Walk' in the bottom left hand corner there is a tiny gear wheel. Tap on that. And it gives the option of 'Use Phone GPS' Yes/No .

Mine was set to No... swapped it to Yes and it all works again. This gear wheel setting must have been an addition, because I don't recall seeing it before.
