Hello and welcome to the Fitbit Community @lrwilliams

Im sorry to see your having syncing issues. Currently this is a known issue being experienced by some individuals but let’s try a few things to see if that doesn’t get you back up and running again:

Please first check here to insure that your IOS Device is compatible with the new Fitbit App:https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2315
If your are indeed compatible with the new Fitbit App there are a few things we can try to get you syncing again.
Let’s try restarting your Fitbit Tracker: Heres how:

https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186

If your still experiencing syncing issues I would suggest force shut the App and restart. Here’s how:

Turn off your Bluetooth

log out of the Fitbit App

completely shut down your device, wait 1-2 mins then restart your device

once your device fully loads enable your Bluetooth again

now log back into your Fitbit App as you normally would with your email address and password

now sync your device

If your still having syncing issues you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the Fitbit App. You will not lose your data doing this.

Here’s how:

1. Log out of the Fitbit app and force shut the app by swiping up

2. uninstall the Fitbit App from your device

3. now completely shut down your device and wait about 1 min then restart your device

4. once your device has reloaded reinstall the Fitbit app by downloading it from the App Store

5. once it’s installed, log into your device as you normally would with username and password

6. don’t touch anything in the app...just wait until you get a prompt from your Bluetooth.

7. When prompted by your Bluetooth tap yes

8. now try to sync

Lastly please check your iOS settings if this problem persist and try this:

  1. Open your phone's settings.
  2. Scroll down, tap Fitbit > Toggle Location to "Always".
  3. Ensure toggles next to Bluetooth and Background App Refresh are turned ON.

😃 Hopefully these suggestions resolve your syncing issue. Please let me know

I believe the problem is my fitbit will not connect with bluetooth. I am still not having any luck after deleting the app and refreshing the fitbit.

Hello aga @lrwilliams

Im sorry to see that your still having issues. Let’s try this: please go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and remove the tracker. In the list of Bluetooth devices you'll see the Charge 3 and next to it, this symbol "!". Hit the symbol and it will take you to the next step, once you're there select the option that says "Forget this device" or "Unpair".

Once you've made sure about that, go back to the Fitbit app, tap your profile picture then scroll down and select "Set up a Device". This should start the setup process for your device. Just follow the instructions as they come.

If the issue is not solved after the above steps, please take a look at the help articles: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device? or  Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

😉 please keep me posted

Hello again @hmst

I understand but did you try “Set up a Device”? You don’t want it showing in Bluetooth when you go through the steps as per the instructions I posted.

@hmst  I’m assuming you have an iPhone 11 Pro since it’s in the thread title. Do you?

I did. I deleted it from the devices in the Fitbit app and when I try to add the device my phone can’t find it as a recognizable Bluetooth device. It tries and tries. I tried turning Bluetooth off and back on. The Fitbit is sitting right next to the phone and it’s plugged in and charging. Thanks for your help.

I’m sorry your still continuing to have issues @hmst even after trying all the troubleshooting steps provided here on this thread. I would suggest calling Fitbit Customer Service. Here are ways to contact them: https://help.fitbit.com/?l=en_US&cu=1&fs=ContactUs
I’m sorry I wasn’t able to help.

Your last option was to toggle location services but the Fitbit app doesn’t have that option in my phone (iPhone 11 pro).

Hello and welcome @Joaninha

Is your Fitbit Charge 3 showing in your iPhone 11 Pro Bluetooth but still doesn’t sync? If so try going to settings> bluetooth>tap on the 'i" next to your device and toggle on> share system notifications.
😉 Keep me posted

It’s just an 11. I think I replied to a thread already in progress about an 11 pro

Should my Charge 3 be visible as a discoverable device on my iPhone 11 Pro without the fitbit app installed?  I had connected the Charge 3 to my phone via the app and it would sync but would not receive notifications.  When I viewed my paired devices, the "i" next to the Charge 3 was not visible and the only way to disconnect the device was to remove it from the Fitbit app.

I have since removed the app, restarted my phone, and reset the Charge 3, and still it is not visible as discoverable in my Bluetooth settings. Thoughts?

With an upgrade to iPhone 12 recently, my Charge 3 was not recognized as a bluetooth device. I followed your suggestions in order. The first suggestion did not resolve the issue even though it looked like on the phone that there was a connection with the watch but not a "complete" connection, and the connection would not hold. I moved on to your second suggestion and this one did work. After the uninstall of the FB app and then the shutdown of the phone, I reinstalled the FB app. The Bluetooth prompt was activated, and there was a successful connection made to the Charge 3. This morning when I checked my Bluetooth connections, my Charge 3 was connected and ready! Thank you for your clear, concise instructions!
