Since iOS11 bluetooth functionality on iPhone has changed
Disabling bluetooth via iPhone's control center (accessible with a swipe up) does not turn off bluetooth anymore but disables it.
When starting the fitbit app AFTER bluetooth was enabled via control center (or via settings when it was completely off), the fitbit app does not recognize that bluetooth is enabled and therefor shows the message that the charge2 is unable to sync.
With the fitbit app open, and then quickly disable and enable bluetooth (via control center) makes the fitbit app recognize it again.
Can you please urgently look into this issue so that when bluetooth was already enabled and you start the fitbit app, it automatically syncs instead of throwing a sync error message?
PS: I'm using a Charge 2 on iPhone 8 Plus. Same behaviour happens on my older iPhone 5

Hello @Konfu, I hope you're doing well, it's nice to see you around.
Thank you for your insight and comments. Our team is currently aware of this situation and are working towards addressing it. The way the Control Center works for WiFi and Bluetooth was recently changed when iOS 11 was introduced and indeed, when turning both features off from the Control Center will only disconnect you from the current Bluetooth device and WiFi signal you're currently connected but will not restart those features.
I appreciate your feedback about this and I'll make sure to forward it to our team. If there's anything else I can do for you or if you're having any issue related to this situation please feel free to reply, I'll be happy to help.

Hello @Mejules, thanks for joining the conversation, it's great to have you on board.
As mentioned above, this is an issue our team is still working on. However I would like to suggest you to turn off the Bluetooth on your phone through the Control Center, then turn it back on several times until the banner disappears. Then pull down the screen to start a sync.
I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and let me know the outcome.

Hello @Mejules, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply.
Are you getting the following message when trying to sync your tracker even though Bluetooth on your phone is on?
If so, please swipe up on your phone to open Control Center and turn off Bluetooth, then turn it back on and pull down on the screen of the Fitbit app until it starts to sync.
I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else!

The workaround to this issue is the following (at least it is working for me):
- Make sure bluetooth is off completely (from settings > bluetooth), and not just disconnected (from control center).
- Open the Fitbit app
- Swipe up to show control center
- Enable bluetooth from control center and swipe down
- Fitbit app should now sync with your tracker
- If not, swipe down in the fitbit app to refresh

Hi Jessie,
And what point are you trying to make? 🙂
The version of your phone does not matter, the version of the operating system does.
If it’s running on iOS11, you will have this issue. Any version below does not have this issue.
