Fitbit & iOS app user for about 2 years and generally happy with both but frustrated with the # of bugs in the app for food tracking. Advice welcome if there is a fix, but here's what i've noticed (sorry for long post):
- added food and subsequently changed serving size. few minutes later, reverts back to old serving size. only way to fix is to delete entry and re-enter with the new serving size
- add a food and at some point later, a whole bunch of entries appear that i didn't input. seems to be foods that were 'previously eaten with' the new food entry. only fix is to manually delete them. this has even happened to entries from a few days ago
- add custom food and log successfully. then i go back and it's not there (and neither is the new custom food). only fix is to re-enter the custom food info
- bug in the calculations - e.g. monday calorie log is 1332, average for the week (which is only monday) is 1345. has not fixed itself for 10 hours. only fix is to add a new food and then delete it
- calories in on the main screen is 1010. if i click on the food tiles, calories in at top is 980
There are probably more that i'm not recalling at the moment. FWIW, these bugs are there despite syncing with the fitbit and making sure i have the latest version. Would appreciate the fitbit app team addressing these bugs in the next app update. this feels like a part that app that is not focused on

i'm glad i'm not the only one. it is so annoying.
another bug that drives me nuts is, successfully scanning a barcode and then an infinite loading animation. have to "cancel" and then scan again. sometimes this cycle lasts for several minutes, or i just force close and reopen the app.
in fact, that bud happening to me just now is the reason i'm in this 1+ year old thread.
the fitbit app is absolute garbage. you should all be ashamed of yourselves. fix the app and stop trying to peddle "premium".
