I want to be in a calorie deficit and currently I am set to eating 1000 calories daily and every time I try to set the goal to -750 calories it takes me through the steps but two seconds later it goes back to the 1000 calorie goal. I have tried deleting the app, signing out, force quitting, and I think it is because of the 4.64 (most recent) update. Please help as I do not want to have a goal of eating 1000 calories a day
Hi again everyone - a reply from Fitbit Support on Twitter/X on 14 March.
Thank you for that information and for bringing this to our attention. We are aware of the issue and are actively working on a resolution.
We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We appreciate your patience while we work to get everything running smoothly again.
I'm having the same issue - I go through the steps to determine my daily caloric deficit (750) and it doesn't save. It keeps going back to a set number of calories (1364) I've tried reinstalling the app but that didn't help.
I was hoping I'd find a resolution here, but it appears it hasn't been fixed.
Best AnswerI have been doing the recommended steps to 'fix' and within seconds it reverts back to some calorie goal that I never set 😞. We going on a week now!
It's been over a week since the last update broke a fairly significant feature of the iphone app. There has been no information provided about when this will be resolved. I'm not feeling like a valued customer, and I haven't felt that way for quite a while. Due to the current failure and a number of similar events in the last year, I'm sad to say my current fitbit watch will be the last one I'll own. After over a decade it's time to explore other options.
I’m starting to feel this way too. Everytime there is a problem lately, it’s pretty big and really affects my daily routine negatively. I just want to keep making progress and now I’ve had a week of uncertainty and stagnation.
Same here
Best AnswerI've heard MyFitnessPal does this whole calorie calculation where it accounts for your exercise and adjusts your calorie count like the fitbit app does. I'm thinking of switching over. Has anyone else tried this? I just don't know if MyFitnessPal charges money for that feature or not.
Best AnswerWell, I tried Cronometer and I like Fitbit apps layout much more plus the ads were killing me so that one's a "no go" for me and Cronometer unfortunately...I tried MyFitnessPal too and I don't even remember what I didn't like about it but I didn't. I think the problem with those apps is they really want you to pay for them. I know Fitbit has the premium but I don't feel like they are shoving it down my throat every time I open the app....so I guess I'm stuck waiting for Google to fix the Fitbit App.....sigh
Any update on this? How is there still no solution???
And they just put up a locked post encouraging people to update their iOS.. that’s likely what caused the issue so why are they encouraging people to do that?? It makes no sense. They can make posts like that but can’t update us in over a week…
I contacted Fitbit support last week about it and they said the new Fitbit update happening on 3/17 would fix it. My Fitbit app updated this morning (3/18) and IT’S STILL NOT FIXED. My calories are randomly set at 2,000. I want to be in a 500 cal. deficit. Depending on my burn for the day 2,000 could be too much or too little!
I didn’t say there was an update. They (Fitbit) posted the other day, encouraging everybody to do the update and I’m not sure why, considering that’s what caused the issue. So now a lot more people are going to be upset
Best AnswerI've actually now gained back 3 pounds since this BS decided to break. It's sooo discouraging and depressing after leading a healthy life and depending on this for 5+ years. What a nightmare. I can't just see my numbers all pink - AKA too high - when I live a very active life, with some recovery days, and know I can eat over on those days. It's like a moral drain to constantly be told I am over/ messing up when it's false
