Hi,

I’m new to Fitbit and am really confused with the whole calories goal. I have the Charge 3 so I’m not sure if any of the features on the app are slightly different.

I’ve previously only ever used MyFitnessPal to track my calories and this gives me my daily calorie intake based on my current weight and weekly goal weight loss.

However, with Fitbit I need to set a goal for how many calories I want to burn but I’m not sure how this works. On MyFitnessPal, it usually says my goal intake is 1300/1400 calories per day which I assume would mean a 600/700 calorie deficit?

So does that mean I would do the opposite and add that deficit amount on too of 2000 daily calories? For example, if I want a 500 calorie defect, I need to aim to burn 2500 calories per day?

Please can anyone help, I’m not familiar with all of this and am pretty confused! Thankyou 😄

Hi, @Rachaell_B96, welcome to the community, you may find this article of interest How do I track my food with the Fitbit app? - Fitbit Help Center .

I hope this helps but if you are still stuck please post here again.

@Rachaell_B96   I hope this additional information helps.  Fitbit lets you set up a food plan that is described in @Gr4ndp4's link.  You enter your information and choose an intensity level, based on how quickly you want to lose weight.  You log your food and your Fitbit activity throughout the days helps keep you on track.  If you are asking about the energy (calorie) burned in you Activity goals, that is just a personal goal.  That number doesn't factor in to your food plan at all.  A user can have a calories burned goal, but not have a food plan.

If this doesn't answer your question, can you ask it a different way?
