Hi guys

Really confused as recently my calorie burn figures for the day seem to be lower than previously. I set my steps goal at 8000 as I work from home so 10,000 wouldn’t be realistic. On the days I go for a run or when I had 8000 steps and some active minutes I was previously always getting around 2000 for my daily calorie burn. However last week or so it’s been lower. As you can see from the photos, yesterday I did no exercise, less steps and less miles than my goal. However the app reckons I have burned less calories today even though I went for a 30 min run, reached my step goal and travelled more miles. Can anyone help me understand why this is happening? I’m worried it’s not accurate. I have reset my watch a number of time

Hello @Stephyholliday, I hope you're doing well, it's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community! Smiley Happy

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Please note that your basal metabolic rate (BMR) is the rate at which you burn calories at rest just to maintain vital body functions like breathing, heartbeat, and brain activity. Your BMR usually accounts for at least half of the calories you burn in a day and is estimated based on the physical data you entered when you set up your account: gender, age, height, and weight. Has any of this data changed or has it been edited lately? If not, it's also possible that the information displayed in the app is not updating correctly with the information in our servers, in which case I would like to suggest the following:

  • Force-quit the app by double tapping the home button on your phone, then swipe up the app. If this doesn't seem to work:
  • Log out from the app, restart your phone and log back in.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.
