Calories burned showing extra.

I’m a new user and my app is showing calories that have been burned for years back. But when I wore it yesterday, before I set it up, there were calories burned on it. And when I charged it last night and put it on this morning there were calories burned when I wasn’t wearing it. I think it’s showing the number I burned plus the additional 1500 it has shown for years back previously. Is there anything I can do to make only my real calories burned show up?

Your fitbit is working just fine and those really are the calories you burned!

As well as tracking calories burned through activity your fitbit also tracks your BMR calories. These are the calories you burn just keeping your body alive (even when asleep). They are calculated from your profile settings for age, height, weight etc so you needn't be wearing your fitbit to get them.

What you are seeing in the morning is the total BMR calories burned since the count reset at midnight. What you are seeing on days in the past is the total BMR calories for that day.
