Hello, Upon waking this morning my blaze indicated that I had 1400 cal burned already. But I was asleep. How can that be?

As well as tracking calories burned through activity your fitbit also tracks your BMR calories. These are the calories you burn just keeping your body alive (even when asleep). They are calculated from your profile settings for age, height, weight etc so you needn't be wearing your fitbit to get them. What you are seeing is the total BMR calories burned since midnight. There's more information on this here:

Having said all that, 1400 is a lot to have between midnight and the morning but the amount does depend on your profile settings for age, weight, height etc. It might be worth a quick check of your settings at:

Just as a benchmark: this morning my dashboard showed around 600 burned cal before I got up. I'm 52, 186cm, 84kg
