Hi everyone and good to see you around @smiles1013. Its been a few weeks since you mentioned about this issue, so let me ask how it goes so far? Is the issue still persisting on your mobile app?
Once you have set up your food plan it should not be require to repeat the process, so make sure you are running the latest version of the Fitbit app. (For iOS the last version is 2.28)
If you have updated the app already, I recommend to force quit the app:
1. Log our from your Account and double tap the home button on your iOS device. Your open apps will show on your device's screen.
2. Close the Fitbit app by swiping the app image in an upward motion.
3. Reopen the Fitbit app and try again.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions.

Can confirm this issue still exists. I have followed the steps listed above with no change in the issue. Is there anything else to try, or just wait for an update of the app?

Hi there @HamiltonA, thank you for confirming this and welcome aboard to our Community. Can you tell me how often is requesting you set your food plan again on your app?
I'm testing this from my side and I just set up a food plan with a 500 calories of deficit using my iPad and I was not able to replicate the issue depicted here. Once I configured the food plan all the information was transferred to my web-based Dashboard.
As I mentioned before, once you have configured the calories deficit it should not be asked again to set a new deficit again. Also consider that the calorie deficit is already included on your calorie goal. So it would be good to have more details to investigate further and see if this is a glitch affecting the app.
I'll be here giving follow up to this issue and if I got something new I will let you know. See you around.

I am having the same problem using the Fitbit app on an iPhone 6S.
Every time I set the food goal to -500 calories then go back to dashboard it resets to "set up". I've tried restarting the app.
Just got my Fitbit yesterday. Really pleased so far apart from this glitch! Is there a fix for this?
thanks.

A warm welcome to the Community @AAGFit and @kentronic. Have you tried the steps provided by our friend @RobertoME in his previous posts? If you haven't, please try them. Also, have you check if your app is updated? If it isn't, I recommend following @MarreFitbit's instructions in the How do I update the Fitbit app for iOS? post.
Let me know the outcome.

The same issue is happening with me. I just installed the new update on 1/9/17 - however it did not fix the issue. I logged out of my account on the iPhone 6s, closed the app, resigned in. I set a new goal and it wouldn't save after I closed the app.

Hi, I just got a fitbit yesterday and installed the app on my iphone 5s and am having the same issue. It's all the way updated and I closed it out and restarted. I set it up and it never saves, everytime I press done and go to the main menue it just says to set it up again. It has to be a bug with the app.

I replicated these steps and continue to have the same problems, that the calorie deficit does not save once I close out of the app and re open it. I am using an iPhone 6s, updated the app today, and have tried logging out and back in. I can save a calorie goal/deficit in the website version of Fitbit, but it does not sync up to the app.

Has anyone found a solution to this? I updated, tried deleting and redone loading the app... and still can't get the deficit to save. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello @katie3737, @maddy713, @Ekt15, @srenk and @BetsyPJohnson. Let me start by giving all of you a warm welcome and apology for not posting any update recently.
For all who are experiencing this issue with the calories deficit, I've been looking for more reports and it was confirmed this is a bug affecting the iOS app. At the moment our teams are working on this and in the meantime I can recommend to change your deficit from the online-Dashboard.
On the food log page: https://www.fitbit.com/foods/log
By 'food plan' click the left arrow once, a 'plan summary' appears, click the 'edit plan' button and follow on screen instructions.
See you around and if I got more updates I will let you know.
