Can't edit start time for a walk

I mistakenly failed to start my tracking until 15 minutes or so into my walk. I have a Versa3, and I thought that previously I could change start and end times for most exercises, including walking. It just refuses to accept earlier start times.

@Gewesen   The Edit Exercise Details section has a little note at the bottom.  "If a GPS route is available, you may only shorten the duration of the exercise."  If you used GPS, then this explains your experience.
