What version of Android or IOS is your phone? If below iOS 15, or below Android 9, read on.
From Fitbit Setup Requirements
And from What should I know about using the Fitbit app on my Android phone?
So Fitbit has a terrible gotcha whereby with some phone OS versions, you can be running Fitbit, though maybe not with all the features, but if you delete the app, you cannot reinstall it.

That is horrible the Fitbit people are prentding they don’t know that this problem exists. They tell me report a problem. No response. Then I reach out to community. A reply lets me know that this is a kink in the Fitbit. Thank you for the heads up. Fitbit report a problem, thanks for nothing!

I tried to help your question, but you didn't even answer my question about which version your phone was running.

@Pammyca Welcome to the forums. @JohnnyRow Thanks for stopping by to help our new member.
@Pammyca Thanks for the details provided, and the time taken while contacting our Support team. Because your phone is compatible with the Fitbit app, that might be the reason why our team wanted to report it as the Fitbit app should be available to download.
That being said, I'm glad you sorted this out and I hope you can keep crushing your goals!
