Can’t see all text in challenges

I can only see one line of text in the challenges—the rest of the text is cut off. This is only iOS as the Apple users are having the same problem but not the Android users. I don’t see a post for this and it’s been going on for a couple of weeks. I’ve closed and opened the app, reinstalled, rebooted my phone. Is this problem being worked on?

No, a solution is not coming.  This thread just exists so we can talk about our feelings.

The moderators will chime in and throw us a bone from time to time, but it's all meaningless.

We just try to think of more and more creative ways to complain about it.

This has been going on since at least October looking back at the first post on here... although it feels like it’s been going on much longer. Well now it’s 8 months later and still no help.
I’ve barely been using my Fitbit app and haven’t been paying attention to the challenges as I never know what going on cause everything is cut off.

Cant read any names or anything.

SOOOO annoying!

The Fitbit challenges are the reason I haven’t gotten an Apple Watch yet.

but... this defeats the whole purpose of having a Fitbit really.

Hi Liliya.
Forgive us for not being overwhelmed by your response. We have heard this time and time again. Please get your Tecchies to put their minds to fixing this problem. yo are losing users fast. I am seriously thinking of quitting and taking my custom elsewhere. Your customer service is abysmal.

It’s been 8(!!!) months! For one issue that everybody is complaining about!

how long can it take to fix one (software?) issue? Because the challenges are not working properly I’m not doing them anymore and I haven’t been doing them for a while. I’m not paying attention to my steps anymore and only use my Fitbit as  a “smart watch” to read my text messages. At this time I’m seriously considering switching to Apple Watch as it seems to be more beneficial for me. I’ve waited SOOO long! Not happy. Been with Fitbit since 2013 but this is getting ridiculous.

Are you kidding us with another "Be Patient" message. This is not some obscure problem. This a problem with the number one selling cellphone on the market. You would think as long as this has been going on it would have received some type of priority status.

I cannot see text in my challenges.   They are all cut off.   It’s been going on for a long time.   I have even gotten a new iPhone to replace my old iPhone and it still does it    Very frustrating.   I feel like I’m being rude in challenges by not cheering anyone but I can’t read it.

It’s such a shame that a seemingly simple fix is causing disruption for so many customers.
I got brand new Fitbit for my 50th birthday last October and have an up to date iPhone and the messages have never worked for me.
in the current situation where none of my Fitbit ‘friends’ can actually meet up it would be great to be able to cheer each other on and have some much-needed social interaction.

Are you still around? Anything happening with this?

@Archaliens

Yep, still here.  Nope, no news.

We had a moderator chime in a couple of weeks ago asking us to be patient, but no actual progress towards a resolution.

NOTHING and I have basically given up.

It is beyond ridiculous at this point. They’re offering 90 free days of Premium Fitbit when they can’t even fix a simple technical glitch in their regular service!

Hi everyone. Thanks for participating in the Community Forums.

I appreciate your continued reports about the messages not showing correctly in the challenges, and the steps tried on your own. I'm sorry about the inconvenience that you are experiencing. Our team continues working on this situation to bring a fix as soon as possible to all our affected users. While there isn't a time frame for that fix, please keep the Fitbit app updated. I'll also update this thread once I have more details to share with you.

If you need anything else, feel free to let me know.

It has been about 9 months since it was first reported here and many updates and still no progress whatsoever.  Clearly since this used to work fine and it is just a text length issue, they are not actually actively "working on it".  Regardless of what they post periodically here to make it appear it is getting attention, it is just not important enough for them to to fix.

Period.

If it was, it would have already been fixed.  Some long message still make it through intact.  Badge congratulations typically do as well and more friends messages even when they are long.  The "Poke" messages that show the comparative status between two players or between the players and the group are the most affected.

This shows the transport mechanisms are fine and there is not a low-level truncation problem.  Just a bug that does not have their attention.  This is what happens often with these new subscription style services.  They see no direct revenue boost from fixing bugs that don't cause a loss of subscribers directly. (especially for free basic connectivity)  If there is a subscriber loss, often it will be blamed on other more tangible reasons (market pressures, economic woes, competition, etc) instead of support ignoring these sorts of non-crashing UI problems that affect the daily convenience of users.

IMHO anyway.

Another attempt at appeasement.

I’ve already started looking for an Apple Watch. Like you I’ve only stuck around with Fitbit because of the challenges but now that I can’t see who I’m supposed to be cheering or what’s happening progress-wise with my friends🤷🏽‍:female_sign:

I really can't believe this has gone on for so long. Every single person I know in the challenges who has an iPhone has this issue and everyone is so annoyed by it yet Fitbit don't care. Every time there is an update I think, "Oh, maybe this will finally be the day they fix that annoying bug" but no.... Here we are in July 2020 still only reading half the messages in the challenges 🙄

I know, right?!?!!!

Hey @LizzyFitbit

I just installed the new app update, and it looks great!  It's obvious that a lot of time and effort was put into making it look nice.

Now, maybe try to make it actually work the way it's supposed to!  I have to use the Windows 10 app on my computer to read the text in challenges.  The Windows app version 2.44 is much older, but it works better.

The last update I got was July 1. It’s fitbit 3.24.1.   Everything is still the same for me 🤬
