Hi there @SunsetRunner. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums!
I'll be happy to answer this for you. When it comes to the in-app notifications, these will delete themselves every 30 days, so the oldest ones if they're more than 30 days old, they will start disappearing.
If this isn't happening, you can log out of the app and log back in and see if that works. There is currently no way to manually delete them. I wanted to let you know too, that I've moved your post to the iOS App Board as this is a question more related to the Fitbit App.
Hope this answers your question. Let me know if you need anything else!

Hello I understand that , I think it's mostly that Many Fitbit user's as
my self Would like to beable to Manually delete them or the one's a user
might want to delete on their own every Fitbit user might not want all of
them deleted and some user's may want them all deleted. what we as Fitbit
user's are saying We want that chose Surely Fitbit can write some
computer codes into their program that will aloud this feature to be
possible . We are just asking for some degree of control over our Fitbit.
Plus add some more Watch face's to the Fitbit Charge 2 Please we know
there is a Charge 3 out but some people might not be ready to up grade
just yet. I'm looking to up grade to the Versa maybe or the Amazfit
they cost far less than Fitbit Versa and the Ionic. it has more features
and a Longer battery life. Don't get me wrong I love Fitbit but if there
is a Tracker that dose the same thing Fitbit Trackers do for less in
price more function and features and longer Battery life , I can understand
why most of my Fitbit friends are crossing over to Amazfit

I appreciate you have taken the time to report this situation with the red dot in Notifications. At this moment our team is aware of this issue, but may not be able to provide a fix in the immediate future (that doesn't mean they're not working on it). We'll continue to monitor the situation, and keep our team informed of the impact to you and other customers. We understand that this isn't the resolution you're hoping for, but rest assured we're always working to improve our products.
We're sorry for any trouble. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hello @Glantrip, thanks for joining the conversation, it's great to welcome new members to the Fitbit Community.
Please note that as a mentioned earlier, it's not possible to delete in-app Notifications or in-app Messages, which is why we suggested to check @rubyrune's suggested ideato implement this feature and adding your vote and comment to it.
Now, when it comes to the red dot, this is an issue our team is currently aware of and is working towards a prompt and proper resolution. Once we have more to share about this situation, we'll make sure to post it here in the official Forums.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, have a great day.

@YojanaFitbit I have messages older than 30 days AND notifications that are almost a year old that do not auto-delete. No new messages appear in the app. This is annoying. I have done the recommended procedure to remove the old notices to no avail multiple times.
Now the red dot is permanently displayed in the app even though there are not any new notices. I turned off notifications in the app & the phone, logged out, force closed the app, removed the app, turned off Bluetooth, & shut down the phone. Did this several times. What is the real solution to this problem?

@MarcoGFitbit, i understand that the in-app notifications are not directly deleatable. They are subject to an auto-drop off after 30 days.
What you are not understanding is that all of my in-app notices & messages are older than 30 days (from May/June 2018). They are NOT dropping off!!!!
I have not received any new messages since June 2018.
I want the old ones to drop off properly.
And i would like to receive new messages in the app.
Please resolve this problem,
thank you for your help

Hello @SunsetRunner, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply.
Please note that messages should delete after 30 days have passed, however the app is experiencing an issue where this is not happening and our team is currently working to resolve it. Now, when it comes to Notifications, due to a high demand from users, in-app Notifications were removed on June 2018 and were replaced with push Notifications on the phone. Note that the previous in-app Notifications can't be deleted for the time being, which is why we suggested to check @rubyrune's suggested idea to implement this feature and adding your vote and comment to it.
I hope this resolves your inquiry, if there's anything else we can do for you, please feel free to reply.

My IOS Fitbit app stopped deleting notifications a couple of years ago and I haven’t received any new ones since then. It DOES NOT delete them after 30 days. I have previously signed out and back in more times than I can remember. They’re still there. I’ve even deleted the app & reinstalled a couple of times. That didn’t work either.
Does Fitbit ever look at their customer complaints and requests? Instead of coding a new look for the app, how about fixing what doesn’t work for us?

I don’t think they care...supposedly they had some sort of poll where it was determined that no one likes the app notifications, & so the new notifications will only appear on the phone’s locked screen. But!!! They did not in their wisdom remove the old notices!!!
now we are stuck with antique notices, which they obviously do not care about, since the latest update was only visual & did not remove the antique notifications.

Still the same message notifications from 3 years ago... nothing works as suggested. For the amount of money and time that has been invested by fitbit users it seems that this shouldn't be such an issue.
But it shows that the fitbit development team is very selective in what they address. Kinda sad because we all now that you have the resources to fix this.

I've got a new Charge 4 where I just updated the firmware today. My Notification list shown on the Android App has messages back to February 2017. I don't see any way to delete them. I've tried rebooting the app and logging out and logging back in. No change. After logging back in, I did the the red balloon with the number 99 in it. I didn't count the number of notifications, but I suspect the number is, in reality, the highest the firmware can count. Once I scrolled through the messages, the balloon went away, but the notifications remain. Something is broken. I see no need for notifications more than a week or two ago.

You should be able to delete notification messages now by swiping the message to the left to delete it.
