Cannot Synchronise with iPad or iphone

The last Sync was on the 1st Apr and since then app goes on saying looking and won't sync. In notifications it says Bluetooth pairing needed and when I say pair it simply goes on forever. Yes Bluetooth is on. The error message in pairing says switch device on!

Hi @Majm,

If your tracker is Bluetooth bonded to a mobile device (required for things like receiving notifications and seeing live data in the App), the bond can prevent you from syncing to a second mobile device. If this is the case, I'd recommend the troubleshoots mentioned here.

If it is something else, I would then recommend the sync troubleshoots mentioned here.

Keep me posted if this helps you out!

1. Open iTunes. Make sure that you have the latest version.
2. Use the USB cable that came with your iOS device to connect it to your computer.
3. In iTunes, find and then click your iOS device.
4. On the Summary tab, select "Sync with this [device] over Wi-Fi."
5. Click Apply, then disconnect the USB cable.
6. Choose which items you want to sync, then click sync.

7. Restart your computer and iOS device.
8. Make sure that your computer and iOS device are on the same Wi-Fi network. Syncing doesn't work over an Ethernet to Wi-Fi connection.
9. Check your firewall settings. If you use security or firewall software on your computer or router, you canget help with security software. You can also contact the router's manufacturer or check the documentation to learn how to open TCP ports 123 and 3689 and UDP ports 123 and 5353.

The problem, it turns out, was that the pairings on the radio were "full". It seems this radio (CDE-133BT) allows 3 pairings. Well, I inadvertently renamed my Nexus some point along the way when I also unpaired it from the phone. Attempting to re-pair without first emptying a free slot on the radio failed. I do not know what the comms is like for denying a connection based on that, but either the radio sent incorrect information about why the pairing was denied or Android reported an incorrect reason.

The problem is solved - By the way - the way to empty the bluetooth pairings is NOT in the manual - I watched a YouTube video of someone making pairings and discovered a way to find what the pairings were.

Not sure if this Q/A still belongs here, but maybe it will be helpful for someone with an Alpine CDE-133BT someday.
